The short fuse, the numbness, or the distance that’s crept in, from yourself or from the people around you. Worries that won’t switch off, or the feeling that the ground is shifting under a life that used to feel settled. Before this practice I worked at an operational stress injury clinic with veterans, RCMP members and first responders. There isn’t much I haven’t sat with.

Trust takes time, and it can’t be rushed. So I won’t rush it.

What those years taught me, more than anything, is that trust is built slowly. Most people who come in have been holding things together for a long time, and they don’t need someone to push. You’ll get someone calm and direct, who says what she means, and who’s still there when you’re ready to say more.

Whether it’s something that happened, a worry that’s been running the show, or a low that’s settled in, we work through it together at a pace that’s yours to set. Sometimes that means facing difficult memories, always gradually, never more than you’re ready for. Sometimes it’s quieting your mind, or getting your sleep back. Either way, you’ll always know what you’re working on and why, even in a hard week.

What the first session is like

We talk. I’ll ask what’s going on and what you’d like to be different, and I’ll tell you plainly what I’m noticing. No homework, no decisions, and nothing you have to face before you’re ready. If I’m not the right person for what you’re carrying, I’ll say so, and I’ll help you find who is.
